2" Suction Hose: Series, Prices and Pump Quotation Checklist

Choosing a 2" suction hose involves more than reading the connection size on a pump. On the suction side, vacuum suitability and airtight joints matter; on the discharge side, positive pressure conditions matter. Specify the products and lengths for these two lines separately.

The 25-metre costs below are comparison examples checked against the current price list on 24 September 2026. VAT, connection kits and delivery are excluded. They do not imply a ready-made 25-metre coil or that this length suits every pump.

2" Suction and Delivery Hose Prices per Metre

List prices exclude VAT. The 25-metre total is an illustrative product subtotal, not a promise of coil length or stock.
Model and SizeTRY/metre25 metres
2" Standard Yellow Suction HoseTRY 139.86TRY 3,496.50
2" Standard Green Suction HoseTRY 168.72TRY 4,218.00
2" Heavy-Duty Yellow Suction HoseTRY 155.40TRY 3,885.00
2" Heavy-Duty Green Suction HoseTRY 182.04TRY 4,551.00
2" Standard Red Delivery HoseTRY 88.80TRY 2,220.00

For Standard Yellow Suction hose, 25 × TRY 139.86 = TRY 3,496.50; for Heavy-Duty Yellow Suction hose, 25 × TRY 155.40 = TRY 3,885.00. The difference is TRY 388.50. A higher price or a “heavy-duty” name does not establish suitability without the technical ratings.

Distinguish Suction Hose from Delivery Hose

The suction line feeds water to the pump inlet; the delivery line carries it from the outlet. The red delivery-hose row illustrates the difference in duty and cost. A matching diameter alone does not make a delivery hose suitable for suction if its vacuum rating is unverified.

Pump and Fluid Details to Gather Before Requesting a Quote

  • Pump make and model, actual inlet and outlet sizes, and connection type.
  • Pumped liquid, operating temperature, and the type and size of any solids.
  • Vertical difference between water level and pump, actual line length and bends.
  • Required flow, operating pressure or vacuum conditions, and the manufacturer’s minimum bend requirements.

The Connection Kit Matters as Much as the Hose

The hose-tail end of the connector must match the actual hose bore. The pump-side thread or flange is a separate size. Select seals, clamps and any strainer or foot valve for the application; calling everything a “2-inch kit” can leave important details out of a quotation.

Avoid sharp folds and tensile loads on connections. Check potential air leaks and air-trapping sections of the suction route against the pump instructions. The pump manufacturer’s layout, priming and safety instructions take priority over this general checklist.

Example of a Comparable Quotation Request

Example: “2" yellow suction hose; pump model …, liquid …, temperature …, run length …, vertical suction lift … . Please quote a suitable series with operating/vacuum data, continuous length, connectors, clamps, product total excluding VAT and shipping separately.” Request technical assessment instead of guessing missing conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the 2" suction-hose price?

The table lists hose price per metre and the product cost for the stated length only. Connectors, seals, clamps, filters, VAT and shipping are assessed separately.

Does every 50 mm connector fit a 2" hose?

No. Two inches converts mathematically to 50.8 mm, but trade sizes and tolerances may differ. Verify the actual hose bore, hose-tail dimensions and jointing method together.

Does the heavy-duty series always have a higher vacuum rating?

A series name is not a numerical vacuum rating. Compare permitted vacuum, temperature and bending data for the same size in the technical sheets.

Can a delivery hose be used for suction?

Only when the selected product is explicitly verified for that suction or vacuum duty. A matching diameter or spiral appearance is not enough.

If the pump will not draw water, is the hose too small?

Diameter is not the only possible cause. Air leaks, priming, water level, blockages or line layout may also matter. Stop the equipment safely and follow the pump manufacturer’s troubleshooting procedure.

Is a 25-metre suction line suitable for every pump?

No. Here, 25 metres is a pricing example, not a pump-design recommendation. Suitability depends on line losses, elevation and pump operating conditions.

Can it carry drinking water or chemicals?

Fluid compatibility must be verified for the specific product. A water-transfer description is not food-contact or chemical-resistance approval. State the fluid, concentration and temperature and request written technical confirmation.

Why specify a continuous length?

Total length does not show how many joints are needed. State each continuous piece so that coil availability, cutting conditions, joint count and cost can be confirmed.
