The Blue PN16 Series includes straight and reducing connections alongside male- and female-threaded transitions. “Blue coupling” alone is not a complete specification: select the component shape, both end sizes and series-specific code together.
Build a precise parts list for the line
A coupling provides a straight joint, a tee creates a branch, an elbow turns the line, and a cap is considered for a compatible end closure. Check the thread orientation on threaded tees and elbows. Size availability can differ between components, so use the individual product table rather than assuming the entire family range applies.
Comparing Blue and New Series
The same nominal size and PN16 designation do not establish identical geometry or assembly details. Compare the required component in each series’ code and dimension tables. When adding to an existing installation, do not infer the series or connection standard from appearance.
Pipe and fitting operate as one connection
The millimetre dimension must match the PE pipe outside diameter; pipe colour does not substitute for a material declaration or drinking-water documentation. Check the seal contact surface, pipe-end preparation and insertion depth using the installation instructions. PN16 is not an unchanged operating allowance for every temperature and fluid.
Checks before ordering and installation
- Measure the existing pipe outside diameter and record its markings and product code.
- For a threaded end, confirm male/female form, nominal size and thread standard.
- Match tightening, support and testing methods to the selected series instructions.
