Metal-threaded fittings are considered for transitions between a PE-pipe connection and threaded equipment. This catalogue includes adapters, tees, elbows and tapping saddles. “Metal-threaded” does not mean that the entire body is metal or that the component suits every fluid.
Male and female thread functions
Equipment with a female port may require a male-threaded fitting, while a male port may require a female fitting; dimensions and thread standard still need verification. State the pipe-side millimetre dimension separately from the threaded end’s inch designation. A few turns of apparent engagement do not prove the thread standards match.
Assess the metal end, seal and body together
Do not judge fluid, temperature or mechanical-load suitability from the appearance of the metal end. Check the body, metal section and sealing element as one assembly. Plan supports so that the weight of a heavy valve or appliance is not carried by the joint.
Controlled assembly of threaded joints
Start the thread squarely; do not force incompatible parts into place. The sealing material and tightening method must suit both the plastic and metal sides. Keep the connection accessible for inspection before insulating or enclosing it.

- Compare materials and thread standard with the connected equipment documentation.
- Verify support, sealing and tightening requirements for the chosen model.
