Application and Product Selection
A compression end cap closes an unused open PE pipe end. Match it to the pipe outside diameter. It is a different connection type from a threaded plug or cap.
Select from the New PN16 Series dimensions in this page’s product-code table. Do not assume another series offers the same size range.
Define the connection before ordering
- Reading the size
- Check the connection being closed: a compression end cap and a threaded plug are not interchangeable selections.
- Matching and layout
- Keep the closure accessible if the line may be extended later. Relieve pressure from the relevant section safely before removing the closure.
- An example from the catalogue
- Product code: KTA5020000000 · Size: 20
This example identifies one catalogue row; use the code for your required size and state the quantity in your enquiry.
Assembly and Installation Planning
Prepare a square, clean pipe end. Leave access if the end must be reopened later. Do not attempt to drain a pressurised line by loosening the cap.

End cap — New PN16 Series: application and model selection
A compression end cap closes an unused open PE pipe end.
Before closing an unused line end, establish whether it is a plain pipe or a threaded connection. Compression end caps and PP threaded plugs are separate model choices for that reason. If later opening or removal is required, include the access requirement in the order notes.
Read the catalogue size and series context
Match the connection size and type to the selected cap or plug record; keep pipe outside diameter separate from thread size. Actual catalogue records for this model include 20, 25, 32. Read the complete size expression alongside the series identity; do not transfer the size range of another similarly named model to this one.
Product code, packaging and piece quotation
Use “the selected row's product code / the selected catalogue size” and requested pieces on each quotation line. Catalogue pack quantity is separate from requested quantity or minimum order. Confirm current piece price, stock, packaging and delivery in writing.
What should be confirmed before installation?
Confirm the conveyed fluid, temperature, operating and surge pressure, pipe or hose class and connection form against information for the selected product. A series name, appearance or another component's data does not establish suitability of the whole installation. Use the relevant instructions for tightening and sealing methods.

Frequently asked questions
6 questions and answers covering size, use, technical checks and quotations.
Does an end cap serve the same purpose as a valve?
A cap closes an end but has no operating handle. If frequent opening and closing is required, plan a suitable valve arrangement.
Can an end cap be used on a future extension?
It may be suitable for the size and duty. Provide future access and a safe isolation plan.
How do I choose the size?
Measure the PE pipe outside diameter. Identify any threaded connection separately. Do not confuse a pipe OD in millimetres with a thread size in inches; check both ends and any third outlet.
Does PN16 mean 16 bar under every condition?
The PN16 designation alone does not establish the operating pressure of the entire system. Verify the manufacturer’s data for fluid, temperature, pipe class, surge pressure and installation conditions.
What information is needed for an order?
Specify the product code, series, connection sizes and quantity. Add the application, operating conditions and delivery address when requesting a written quote.
What should I check before installation?
The pipe end should be square-cut, clean and undamaged. Check seals and gripping components against the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not dismantle a pressurised system; arrange an appropriate leak check after assembly.
